Newletter #1

Newsletter #1
Hi there

I hope that you don't mind me dropping into your inbox (if you do- hit the 'unsubscribe' button below and you won't hear from me again) but I've been making a lot more videos on ELT-Training during lockdown (gotta do something!) and I thought that it would be good to have more regular contact with the people who subscribe to the site.

My thought is to send out a newsletter with new material on the site and other links. I hope that these will be useful and that you might enjoy a little browse through something teaching related over your morning coffee.

NEW AT ELT-TRAINING
This week, I've released a new free series called 'The Ultimate Guide to CELTA Success'. It's a look at what makes the difference between a Pass grade (perfectly acceptable) and the Pass B and A grades and gives some advice on doing as well as you can on the course. If you haven't done CELTA yet, or you're in the middle of it, I'd highly recommend it (although, I am, of course, very biased).

SNEAK PREVIEW
Another new free resource on the site that's growing is the 'Communication Activities' resource. This has short videos with great ideas for activities that will motivate your learners and get them speaking - online or face to face (if you have that luxury!). Today, you have a sneak preview of an activity that I'm going to put out on social media this week- it's an easy, no preparation activity that's super-useful for developing listening skills.

OTHER ENGLISH TEACHING SITES THAT I LOVE
Finally, a link to another site you might like. This time, ELT-Resourceful. This is a great site, developed by an ex-colleague and friend (not ex!) of mine, Rachael Roberts. It's got lots of downloadable materials for class, often with quite thought provoking themes - all free.

So, I hope that some of this is helpful to you and that you'll look forward to my future missives.

Best wishes
Jo Gakonga
